Carly Rush - Exercise Physiologist
BExPhysiol (Clin)
Born and bred in Townsville, Carly attended James Cook University and graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology (Clinical) in 2016. From here, Carly went on to work as a clinical educator for the university, serving as a mentor and supervisor for students completing their final year of study. Through this, Carly gained experience and knowledge in the realm of cardiac rehabilitation by supervising the Phase II cardiac rehabilitation services at the Mater hospital. Carly also worked independently with private NDIS patients, providing supervision and coaching for their exercise programs.
Having a keen interest in sport, Carly has also spent the past 5 years working with a variety of local sporting competitions as a Level 1 sports trainer. She has had the opportunity to work with members of the NQ Fury team (now NQ United), the Steelcats (now the Northern Rays), the Townsville Heat, as well as a number of other local level representative sporting teams. This has allowed Carly to hone her acute injury management skills, as well as sharpening her injury prevention skills through the use of sports taping. Carly is also able to provide hydrotherapy services for people, having undergone training in this area.
Outside of work, Carly enjoys playing competitive netball, spending days at the beach with her dogs, teaching herself Japanese and volunteering her time to work as a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul youth conference.
