Dr Tiana Sirgiovanni - Osteopath
BSc (Osteo), MHSc (Osteo)
Tiana graduated from Victoria University in Melbourne with an undergraduate degree and Masters in Osteopathy.
Tiana is originally from Melbourne but decided to make the move to Townsville for a change in pace (and more consistent weather!).
It was Tiana’s love of sport that initially sparked her interest in osteopathy, but it was the holistic and compassionate nature of osteopathy that motivated her to help a wide variety of complaints. Tiana developed a particular interest in treating chronic pain, but also has experience in treatment, rehabilitation and taping of sports injuries, stemming from her experiences as a sports trainer for the Beaumaris Football Club in Victoria. Whilst studying, Tiana also went away on placement in Goa, India which taught her a lot about communicating effectively with different people and cultures, helping her gain great confidence in treating people from all walks of life.
Tiana enjoys treating a variety of complaints, with a particular interest in chronic pain. Tiana also has experience in and enjoys treating headaches, neck and back pain. In each consultation, Tiana will conduct a thorough examination and utilise a variety of techniques, with particular emphasis on tailoring each plan uniquely to each person that walks through her door. Her main focus in any treatment is empowering people so that they are in control of their pain and self-management, helping them have control in their drive towards better health.
Despite her love of Collingwood in the AFL, Tiana is very approachable and dedicated to her patients, and is open to embracing all the tropical Queensland lifestyle has to offer. In her spare time, Tiana enjoys being outdoors and active whether that be going for a long walk or hiking with friends. Given her Italian background, she also loves cooking (and eating), so if you have any recipe recommendations, be sure to let her know!
